Akron Global Polymer Academy receives Ohio Board of Regents Grant

The Akron Global Polymer Academy in collaboration with The University of Akron College of Education has been awarded an Ohio Board of Regents (OBR) Improving Teacher Quality Grant. The award will be used for the Summer Institute 2007 workshop for local area teachers, which will be directed by Dr. Carin A. Helfer and Dr. Katharine D. Owens. The Improving Teacher Quality Program is part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, and distributes funds to support activities designed to increase student achievement by enhancing teacher quality. The funded projects provide high-quality professional development opportunities for school teachers from local area high-need schools. For more information on the program, see the press release at the website for the Ohio Board of Regents http://regents.ohio.gov/.
