It is good to be back! It seems like not long ago I was walking across the stage receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing at The University of Akron commencement ceremony. It was also the day I was accidentally left at the JAR after the ceremony. A miscommunication sent family and friends to my graduation party without me! (There were no cell phones back then.)
There has been a longer span of time since then than I care to admit. Time goes by quickly and during that time there have been many changes at The University of Akron. The college campus grounds have improved as roads have turned to green space. The Student Union Center facilities assist in fulfilling the needs of students, faculty and staff. The Recreation and Wellness Center is a tremendous resource for a healthy well-being. The many new buildings, the football stadium and the computer resources available are all exciting additions to the campus since I was a student. Amidst the positive changes that have occurred over the years, the constants have been the quality of education and the friendly atmosphere The University of Akron programs offer.
The Akron Polymer Training Center (APTC) supports those constants. As a recently hired APTC Program Assistant, I am training to assist Tayba Tahir, APTC Director, and Marcie Pendleton, APTC Program Assistant, with the continued success of the Akron Polymer Training Center. Applying my marketing education and experiences, customer service skills, and computer knowledge to benefit the program as a whole is exciting to me. As the time continues to fly by, I am enjoying this time in my life and being part of the University of Akron team.
